About
Us: At the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital
Foundation (Foundation), we are committed to making a real difference in the
community. We need a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Finance Officer
to help us drive our mission forward. This role supports the financial health
of the Foundation while playing a key part in strategic and financial decisions.

Key
Responsibilities:
· Financial Management:
o Perform all required bookkeeping, analytic
and reporting services for the organization (using QuickBooks online).
o Oversee accounts payable, ensuring
timely payments and organized records.
o Review bank deposits and corresponding
account information.
o Review bank and monitor investment
performance to prepare reports and transfer letters monthly &/or when
required.
o Reconcile all bank, AGCO and credit card
transactions monthly and ensure compliance with policies.
· Financial
Analysis, Budgeting & Reporting:
o Conduct financial analysis of
fundraising programs and provide actionable insights for strategic decisions.
o Collaborate with the team to prepare the
annual and program budgets.
o Prepare easy-to-understand monthly
financial reports – including financial insights and metrics – to support
decision-making for the team, committees and board.
o Look for process improvements in
financial operations and implement best practices to increase efficiency.
· When
on-site (approx. 8 hours per week):
o Help manage accounts receivable, ensuring
donations and sponsorships are tracked and receipts are sent out quickly.
o Attend weekly team meetings and
collaborative planning sessions.
o Respond to phone / email / walk-ins and
provide friendly and courteous information.
· Other:
o Attend signature Foundation events and
offer other financial program support, where required.
What
You’ll Bring:
o A diploma or degree in Finance,
Accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
o Minimum 3-5 years of previous experience
in financial management or bookkeeping, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare
environment. Knowledge of CRA compliance for registered charities is an asset.
o Strong analytical skills and a keen eye
for numeral accuracy and detail including meticulous spelling.
o Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or
similar accounting software with strong Excel skills.
o Strong organizational skills with the ability
to manage multiple priorities.
o High level of discretion and
professionalism in handling confidential information.
o Excellent communication skills—be able
to explain complex financial info in a simple way.
o Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
with a fun and passionate team.
