Almonte General
Hospital and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital created the
Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016 to formalize their commitment
to work together to improve each patient and resident’s overall health care
experience through a strong, coordinated system of care. An integrated Senior
Team leads the two Hospitals, as well as Fairview Manor and Lanark County
Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH. Over 600 caring staff,
physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acute and long-term care to
citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.
The
Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) is inviting qualified individuals to express
their interest in a temporary contract position as Project Manager – Electronic
Medical Record (EMR). Reporting jointly to the Vice President of Patient and
Resident Care, Pharmacy & Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) and the Vice
President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the EMR Project Manager will be
responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system across all MRHA sites. This includes overseeing all phases
of the project—from initial planning and stakeholder engagement through to full
deployment and operational integration.
This
pivotal role will drive digital health transformation by ensuring the seamless
integration of EMR modules, enhancing regional clinical information access,
supporting data-driven decision-making, and improving both patient and provider
experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong project leadership skills,
excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a deep commitment to
healthcare quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead
the EMR implementation across MRHA, ensuring a smooth transition with no
disruption to patient care.
· Develop
and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
· Collaborate
with internal teams, physicians, and external partners to ensure system
integration and stakeholder alignment.
· Support
change management efforts and workflow redesign using tools like Prosci.
· Communicate
project updates, deliver presentations, and manage financial reporting and
vendor coordination.
· Stay
current on digital health trends and pursue ongoing professional development.
Education & Experience
· Degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, or a
related field (postgraduate education or certification preferred).
· Certification in Project or Change Management (e.g.
Prosci, Agile, LEAN).
· Proven experience managing complex projects in a
hospital or healthcare setting.
· Strong understanding of clinical systems,
workflows, and healthcare operations.
· Skilled in stakeholder engagement, risk management,
and sensitive issue resolution.
· Proficient in project management tools and
Microsoft 365 (Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
