Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital created the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016 to formalize their commitment to work together to improve each patient and resident’s overall health care experience through a strong, coordinated system of care. An integrated Senior Team leads the two Hospitals, as well as Fairview Manor and Lanark County Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH. Over 600 caring staff, physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acute and long-term care to citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.

The Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) is inviting qualified individuals to express their interest in a temporary contract position as Project Manager – Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Reporting jointly to the Vice President of Patient and Resident Care, Pharmacy & Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) and the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the EMR Project Manager will be responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system across all MRHA sites. This includes overseeing all phases of the project—from initial planning and stakeholder engagement through to full deployment and operational integration.

This pivotal role will drive digital health transformation by ensuring the seamless integration of EMR modules, enhancing regional clinical information access, supporting data-driven decision-making, and improving both patient and provider experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong project leadership skills, excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a deep commitment to healthcare quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

       · Lead the EMR implementation across MRHA, ensuring a smooth transition with no disruption to patient care.

       · Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.

       · Collaborate with internal teams, physicians, and external partners to ensure system integration and stakeholder alignment.

       · Support change management efforts and workflow redesign using tools like Prosci.

       · Communicate project updates, deliver presentations, and manage financial reporting and vendor coordination.

       · Stay current on digital health trends and pursue ongoing professional development.

Education & Experience

       · Degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, or a related field (postgraduate education or certification preferred).

       · Certification in Project or Change Management (e.g. Prosci, Agile, LEAN).

       · Proven experience managing complex projects in a hospital or healthcare setting.

       · Strong understanding of clinical systems, workflows, and healthcare operations.

       · Skilled in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and sensitive issue resolution.

       · Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft 365 (Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).

Key Competencies

       · Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

       · Strong communication and presentation abilities across all levels.

       · Adaptable and solution-focused under pressure with strong analytical skills.

       · Ability to translate complex clinical concepts for non-clinical audiences.

       · Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.

       · Flexibility to support project activities during non-standard hours as needed.
