Mandatory Requirements
· Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician
certificate from an accredited college, the Canadian Standards Association
(CSA) Group, Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario (MDRAO), or
equivalent – in good standing (re-certification every 5 years).
· Two years’ recent experience in a Medical Device
Reprocessing Department.
· Sound knowledge of the principles of
decontamination, reprocessing, sterilization and sterile storage and
distribution.
· One year experience in Stores.
· Knowledge of medical and surgical instruments
and products.
· Physical ability commensurate with the
requirements of the position: i.e. ability to lift, push / pull carts, stoop;
repetitive bending and use of hands and wrists; and stand for long periods at
one time.
· Demonstrated strong communication,
interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, and facilitation
skills.
· Proven ability to independently assess,
prioritize and adjust activities in response to workload demands.
· Experience with cart exchange systems.
· Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel,
Outlook.
